We made the decision to stay at the Rocks Hotel because of its superb sea front position, right at the heart of Kyrenia. It looked like a very stylishly decorated building (which on arrival was most definitely proved to be the case) and a far cry from the norm in the Mediterranean. Aside from the pleasing aesthetic aspect, we were also very happy with the general service. The staff at the Rocks are always eager to assist you and ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible. It represents a brilliant opportunity to enjoy a city-type break, but in a much smaller, more personal environment.

The Rocks Hotel has a swimming pool on its seafront, sun decking, sun parasols and sun terraces. It also has direct access to the sea and you can swim down from decking via steps. Because the sea is so close and easily accessible, it's definitely worth keeping a close eye on kids (if you have any with you) or keeping them at the poolside.

The hotel has four different restaurants in addition to several bars which serve food throughout the day. For this reason, it is entirely possible to go your entire stay without leaving the hotel for food- however, we did find that it was worthwhile to venture out into Kyrenia once or twice to get a proper feel for actual local cuisine.

Finally, the rooms at the Rocks are fantastic. To put that in perspective, even the most basic of accommodation comes complete with a 42” plasma screen television as standard, as well as a beautiful en suite, living space and a jacuzzi. We haven't encountered a standard of hotel in the Mediterranean like this in well over a decade, and will certainly be returning as soon as we can afford to. The price tag, in this case, is very much worth its money.
