Having just returned from a fantastic ten day stay in Kyrenia, staying at the Mountain View Hotel I thought I'd get on here and let others know what a gem this place is if you're looking to relax, unwind and simply escape from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. To be honest I was firstly very dubious about booking up here, as I'm one of those people who really likes to be away from the crowds and enjoy peace and quiet. Well what a surprise this place was! It was just what we were after, out of the way around a mile or two outside of Kyrenia and well away from any loud noisy bars or clubs. It seemed a very friendly place to stay too, family run with bags of close attention to details and staff who go out of their way to keep the customers happy at all costs.

If you like sunning yourself in the gentle relaxing surroundings then this place would be your ideal place to stay. We decided to hire a car and explore that way, not having to stick to the timetables of buses etc really suited us and we had a great time taking a slow trip around the coast, especially as we could retreat to our quite and relaxing hotel at the end of the day. The food in this place was brilliant. My wife is a vegetarian but she had no problem finding something to suit her, the chef even offered to cook her specific meals depending on what she liked! What a nice touch that was too.

I'd suggest that if you are a young group or couple, this hotel is probably a little too far out for you to enjoy the nighlife, its also probably not really aimed at that group either. I'd say that if you are looking to simply unwind and relax, this is the perfect option as its not you're usual kind of hotel. Give it a try and you wont be disappointed, we will definitely be back, hopefully this year too!
