Merit Crystal Cove Hotel Review - 8 of 51 Reviews

Thinking it was about time for a break having missed last summer due to work I booked a week getaway at the Merit Crystal Cove for myself and my wife. I found a great deal and were really excited about the trip. When we travel, my partner and I normally prefer to eat out in the evening at local restaurants to really get the most out of the holiday and the local culture. We did stay in on two occasions and the hotel buffet food was really surprisingly good. There was a large and varied choice which was presented in an extremely clean restaurant. Our room was spacious and airy, most importantly the sheets were clean and I felt comfortable with the standards, which is so important to me when I arrive at a hotel.

In the warmer months it would have been possible to swim in the sea just outside of the hotel, and there were a few people sitting in the sunshine on the decking, but this time round we didn't make use of the sea as we spent most days in Kyrenia. There's a free bus which runs regularly so we had plenty of opportunity to explore without the worry of how to get back to the hotel later on. Most nights saw the harbour get quite busy.

If I was to think about anything I might want to change about this trip, it would be that there wasn't a huge amount on in terms of hotel entertainment but I imagine some guests would prefer it that way, it really depends on what you like! I think I would certainly consider coming back here, maybe in the warmer months, but my husband enjoyed himself here.
