This is a hotel review for Merit Crystal Cove Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Good value North Cyprus hotel”
Booked a week at the Merit Crystal Cove for myself and my wife. Got an inclusive deal that even included local drinks, and you could have a packed lunch if you were out during the day, which other guests said was nice. (We ate at local restaurants or at the hotel lunchtimes so we didn't try them.) Evening buffet food was nice and with a good choice and you could have as much as you wanted, so you never were hungry! Breakfast was also big!
You can swim in the sea off the rocks in front of the hotel or sunbathe on the decking, but this was too hot for us in July without shade. The beach is nice too but very hot midday. Beachtowels were provided, and lots of them so they never ran short. The free bus to Kyrenia was useful, and we ate by the harbour for lunch one day and for a superb open air dinner another night, although the harbour area does get noisy in the evenings.
Some guests complained that there wasn't much entertainment and the hotel was quiet, but we liked it that way - I never understand why people think that music 24/7 makes for a relaxing time! Our room's view was across the city rather than out to sea but that was fine, as we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.
Liked — food
Disliked — nothing
