Merit Crystal Cove Hotel Review - 18 of 51 Reviews

We booked two interlocking rooms for ourselves and our teenage boys from the 24th - 27th December. We had two friends book the hotel at the same time. Our rooms were lovely with all that we needed in there, slippers, robes, plenty of bathroom products, tea and coffee and a non alcoholic mini bar. Our rooms were facing the sea and the mountains, beautiful views.

The hotel boasts a beautiful spa offering a full range of treatments, the spa was free to use by guests (unlike some other hotels) and they had a fully equipped gym which we made use of. We was rather disappointed that the swimming pool was not ready, which we had been told it would be ready.

The food at the hotel is out of this world, you could seriously over indulge - however if you are on any kind of diet there is food to suit. The drinks are all included and the staff are extremely friendly in the bar and around the hotel.

We did not venture in to the casino this time as the last time we stayed it was very smoky, you can however get food in there until the early hours of the morning.

We went down to the beach on Christmas day and swam in the sea, they still had all the drinks, hot and cold available at the beach bar and towels aplenty. They were in the process at taking all the decking up to either treat it or preserve it which means it will be fantastic again next summer, it is such a lovely area, in the summer it is so relaxing in that area with food and drink on tap.

We would have like there to be the pool table and maybe some other activities available as the boys (18 and 15) were a tad bored at times as there was not a lot for them to do. The hotel is wifi enabled and they had their laptops so did not really complain. they also enjoyed the gym and spa.

All in all a super break was had and we wish we was still there. I think we shall be popping up there for a few more breaks in 2011.
