Merit Crystal Cove Hotel Review - 10 of 51 Reviews

The Merit Crystal an excellent all-inclusive hotel situated in extensive grounds. Plenty of places to relax, hammocks abound in the beautiful gardens and swimming areas. If you like the sea or prefer the pool - its a swimmers paradise. Special areas created for the keen snorkler with instant entry to deep water and the interesting underwater world. My only criticism of this area was the lack of a life guard or pool supervision. During our stay a small group of young boys ran roit in/around the main swimming pool - noisey, inconsiderate and sometimes indulging in dangerous practices. People paying for a relaxing holiday do not need constant noise and spolit young boys occasionally crashing into them. Aduilts do appear too ready these days to accept that young children are allowed to behave any way they choose - So those of you who do not want children around look for another hotel.

This said, the hotel provides for just about everything you could want. Our rooms were excellent, a free bar, bathroom toiletries for both sexes - shampoo's conditioners, shaving cream, razors, soap, sewing kits, toothbrushes, tooth paste & flannels. Hair dryer, TV and comfortable furniture. The whole Hotel is spotlessly clean - staff are constantly clearing up after their guests. There always seems to be someone available to assist or help you. These people are also extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

The restaurants are sumptiously over-flowing with mounds of food. The variety is quite staggering - something for everyone. I found a chinese chef cooking "Wok Style" on duty every meal. Delicious noodles and a varity of dishes freshly cooked on requirement. The majority of visitors where from Turkey, Turkish people have voracious appetites and the hotel more than satisfied what seemed a constant demand for food, food and yet more food from these guests. In fact it seemed to me it was virtually a fulltime job to keep it coming. The only respite appeared to be from around midnight to 7pm - when they slumbered.

The facilities - a Casino (never went in) Al a Carte restaurant (Limited menu - but nice) lots of different bars to find a drink. Trips around the island freely available, internet access and car hire. The Hotel was at the time of our stay undergoing various refits. Such is the size of the complex these never really intruded on our holiday - ocassionally the grinding of a drill or a hammer being applied could be heard - nothing that detracted from our enjoyment ....apart from those bl....... kids.

If you are going its a fabulous place do enjoy yourselves.
