The Malpas is a lovely hotel a few miles out of Kyrenia. We have stayed there a few times and always had a nice time. (We always hire a car to get around).

The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are friendly. There is always a nice feel about the place and we often get recognised from previous visits which is lovely, but there are a few things that could improve, which we keep hoping for:

The swimming pools, both indoor and out are freezing cold. We usually swim on holiday to get some exercise, but not at The Malpas!

The waiters clear the tables too quickly and kept taking our breakfast away when we were just getting something else from the buffet..very frustrating when we had full cups of coffee and juice taken away!

The pool bar menu is very limited and very expensive and you don't always get everything described in the meal, which is disappointing.

We were half board but chose to eat out some evenings, as the buffet food was limited and not always good. Drinks are very expensive!

The rooms should have tea and coffee facilities, being a 5 star.

It would also be a nice touch to provide free bottled water and maybe some fruit on arrival, like many other 5 star hotels do.

Overall it is a good hotel that we feel happy to return to. We would recommend to others but would point out the above issues.

Liked — The clean spacious rooms.
Disliked — The freezing cold pool and expensive soft drinks.
