This is a hotel review for Malpas Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Lovely hotel, great food, expensive drinks.”
Arrived and was located a room overlooking the car-park, asked if this could be changed and was told that if we could sit and have a drink another room would be prepared for us. We returned an hour later to be told by another receptionist very aggresively that there were no other rooms available. Having waited an hour after a long journey we were not happy. A room was found in the annexe which was fine but more inconvenient for the spa and gym facilities which we were using twice a day. I felt that the actions of one person made us feel unwelcome and the holiday got off to a bad start. The rest of the staff were excellent, facilities were good, though the indoor pool was a bit cold and dark. Restaurant staff were great, food was good though the drinks prices were very high - most guests were drinking water with their meals - not many bottles of wine (starting price £20). Lots of large parties of golfers use the hotel, fills up with guests from mainland Turkey at the weekends.
