We Spent an amazing week at the Malpas Hotel, Kyrenia unspoilt northern Cyprus. We booked through gonorthcyprus.com and they were great on the phone when I rang up with a few questions. We chose to go now (feb) due to work commitments - you can't have it all ways I guess!

We went half board and the food was superb. You pay for all drinks but they weren't expensive at all. The staff were very friendly and laid back. You do sometimes have to repeat yourself due to the language but I think that was due to some of the dialects in the hotel. Which even we Brits struggle with at times. The Malpas has loads of amenities including a reliable free Wi-Fi, steam room, Turkish bath, dry sauna, jacuzzi, and both indoor and outdoor pools for when the weather isn't so good. They also offer many pampering treatments which are really well priced, and I enjoyed 2 wonderful massages.

There is a free shuttle bus into town except for the one at 11.30am which costs you 3 lira. The last bus to town leaves at 4pm. The shops here are pretty good and, depending on what you are looking for, are reasonably priced. One word of advice, if you want to go to the market on a Wednesday use there service recommended by the reps. The language problem can be difficult on local buses and we ended up miles from where we should be, but got there in the end. If there's a few of you a taxi is also a good option. A trip to Famagusta is also recommended.

We went to the Malpas out of season when there wasn't much entertainment, but I can imagine it's buzzing in the summer. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday, exactly what we wanted, and will be coming back here again.
