My wife and I took advantage of a last minute deal we found at Go North Cyprus. We booked the Malpas Hotel through Mandy, who described the hotel as a relaxing retreat. I completely agree with her! Set slightly back from the town, the Malpas has beautiful grounds and is really quiet and peaceful. We had an apartment which was separate to the hotel which meant that it was even quieter.

Our apartment was clean and spacious and although the furniture wasn't brand new, it was well decorated and comfortable. It was lovely being set apart from the rest of the hotel because we hardly saw anyone- it was almost like we had our own private retreat. The only downside was having to walk up a hill to get to it.

The food at the Malpas was really delicious, with a nice balance of traditional dishes and things that were more typically British. They are clearly trying to cater for everyone's tastes. The breakfast buffet was spot on and everything that was supposed to be warm, was kept at a good temperature.

As the Malpas isn't in the centre of Kyrenia, it's too far to walk into town. We liked this aspect as we didn't want to be amid the hustle and bustle. For those who are keen to see the local sites, the hotel puts on a shuttle service and the taxis in the area are really efficient. We took one to Kyrenia harbour one our last evening for a special meal and it was about seven pounds in total (not any more expensive than in the UK.) Plus the evening was perfect as the weather was warm and we found the most amazing traditional fish restaurant!

I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Kyrenia and I'd definitely stay in the Malpas again. It was everything we could have wanted from a hotel and our stay was impeccable. Thank you Go North Cyprus for your excellent recommendations!
