We only stayed 3 nights, but found the hotel in a perfect relaxing location and very friendly, helpful staff.

There is a choice of breakfast menus rather than a buffet, so it is quite limited as for example, you can only have either cooked choices such as eggs or full english breakfast, or cold choices such as cereal, or yoghurt and fruit, but not both. It does include do come with orange juice, tea/coffee and toast and jams though, so is perfectly adequate and the cooked options are freshly cooked to order.

We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and found it very good.

We had a private suite in the main building, which was spacious, but be aware that these rooms look out the back onto a brick wall, small road and the mountains beyond - no sea view, this made the room a bit dark. However there was a spacious terrace to sit out on. Having looked at the sea view cottages, which were not available when we booked, we would have much preferred one of those.

The bathroom was newly refurbished and smart, although the room itself was a bit tired and needed updating, with the most uncomfortable mattress either of us have ever slept on. We had to get some sun lounger cushions and blankets to put on top of the bed to soften it, as we both woke up after the first night with terrible back aches and pains.

All in all we had a lovely stay and if not for the bed, we would return!

Disliked — no sea view from room, uncomfortable beds, limited breakfast choice
