My family chose the Dome Hotel for its location. We've been to North Cyprus before and loved Kyrenia over any other place. We wanted to be right in the heart and Gary from Go North Cyprus gave us a wide choice of hotels within the locality to choose from. The Dome Hotel proved to be the best value for money and we liked the fact that it is marketed as having old fashioned charm. We are really keen on history.

We couldn't have been more spot on with the hotel's location, as we were so close to the local amenities, especially the stunning harbour area. We ate most of our meals in local restaurants and spent a few days milling about the town, seeing the historical sites.

I have to say that despite liking a bit of history and charm, I did not expect the Dome Hotel to be historic in terms of the quality of its décor. Unfortunately it's looking a bit worn and tired, not something you'd really expect from a four star hotel. To be honest, we were disappointed with this.

Our room was spacious and to our delight we had a sea view, but the bed was old and a lot of the furniture wasn't matching. Although there was a new bathroom suite, the tiles had not been replaced and many were cracked. If the hotel owners spent a little bit of time and money on the hotel, it would be a true gem because it is situated perfectly and has good facilities. In fact we loved the pool area.

We stayed at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and were pleased with the breakfast. It was a buffet style layout but had lots of choice and the food always seemed fresh. Although the hotel looked a bit shabby, the integral parts were all fine, including the very welcoming staff.
