This is a hotel review for Dome Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Great location, wonderful views, helpful staff.”
We spent one night at the Dome in mid-May. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the porters who helped me negotiate the wild traffic in front to the hotel. We had a corner room with two terraces over the Med. Fortunately, the gentle sea breezes cooled the room, because the air conditioner did not. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom facilities were adequate. This hotel was built in 1935 and the physical plant shows it. The general feeling of the physical components was tired, in need of renovation. The hotel has an attractive pool. It also has a salt water pool created out of a sea wall. In addition, there is access to the Med itself if you want to swim in the sea. We did not find the menu impressive, so we dined in town. Breakfast was self serve and just so-so. The wonderful thing about the Dome is the location. We would return for the location alone. It is two minutes from the old harbor on foot, and minutes from the old town shopping. The views are amazing. Check into the Dome, then walk to the harbor to find an outisde cafe where you can enjoy drinks and rent a hubble bubble. There are numerous dining options in the harbor area too.
