My kids love playing in the sea so it was crucial that we found a hotel with a beachside location when looking on GoNorthCyprus.com. Denizkiki Royal Hotel didn't disappoint, as it is situated next to a sandy, sheltered bay, which is ideal for children as it has shallow, warm water and a restaurant just a few metres away on the beach. There is also a children's pool at the hotel, as well as a freshwater pool near the sea, so plenty of choice when it comes to splashing around!

Its watersports centre was open during the summer and we just made it before the end of the season, so my older children could have a go on a banana boat and wake boarding, which they really enjoyed.

We loved how friendly everyone was here, and we saw the owner Niazi and his family eating at the restaurant several times, which is a testament to how good the traditional Cypriot food was! They even run a free bus to Niazi's kebab restaurant in Kyrenia, which is a great excuse to explore more of the harbour town at night as well.
