This is a hotel review for Colony Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“world class hotel in gentle chaos of Kyrenia”
with few exceptions this hotel offered all the amenities you come to expect of a five-star. The location is great, only a few minutes walk to the Harbour. The hotel lobby is grand and luxurious-looking with mostly helpful staff waiting to attend to you. It is especially nice to come into the cool marbled interiors after a long day trekking about under the hot sun. The rooms are pleasantly decorated, room service works.
The highlights for us were the wonderful Turkish breakfasts in the morning, with a great selection of fresh fruit, cheeses, olives and lovely local pastries.
The rooftop pool is spectacular and offers fantastic views of the city, the surrounding mountains, and the sea. It is a great spot to unwind after a long day, and to watch the sun go down.
We had a couple of dinners at the rooftop terrace and found the food to be great, particularly the yogurt kebab dish.
We thought the Colony was best suited for the type of holiday we were looking for, we were not disappointed.
Liked — wondeful faux colonial building, good size rooms, attentive staff, great location
Disliked — being denied access to 'movie night' on the terrace in favour of local residents
