“Wow, Bellapais Monastery Village is fantastic!”

My husband and I stayed at the Bellapais Monastery Village for a week awhile back. We were really impressed and have already recommended it to several of our friends, who said they would stay there based on our recommendation. We are picky when it comes to hotels, so for us to really like a place, it means it's really good!

We flew into Larnaka and the Bellapais arranged transportation to the hotel. We arrived and got checked in quickly and were shown to our bungalow. The check-in process was smooth and easy. The whole place seems very well run and well organized, actually. Our beds were extremely comfortable and we loved the beautiful terrace, which overlooked the hotel gardens. We had a great view of the northern cyprus harbour and ocean as well.

The food was among the best I've had at a hotel. They menu was a la carte, which I prefer over a buffet. Usually buffets aren't all that fresh, but our food was always fresh and delicious. The one exception was the squash. Don't order it! Otherwise, everything else was wonderfully prepared and tasted great. The pool was peaceful and usually mostly deserted. Even on the days when there were others using the pool besides us, there were always plenty of loungers available and ample space for privacy at the Bellapais Monastery Village.

The one thing I really enjoyed about this place is the peace and quiet. You rarely heard much, if any, noise in or around the hotel. The gardens and landscaping gave the place a tranquil feel. My wife and I both agree that it was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had. We do hope to come back to northern cyprus next year. If you do want to go to the beach or to use the facilities of one of the sister hotels, the Bellapais Monastery village provides a bus that takes you there and back at no extra charge.
