Bellapais Monastery Village Review - 27 of 65 Reviews
This is a hotel review for Bellapais Monastery Village in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Hotel very good but countryside over-developed.”
Room and restaurant meals excellent, the staff in both too. The shuttle bus to town was a godsend also.
But I do have several gripes.
The name is most misleading. It is not in Bellapais (a stiff half hour walk uphill), it has nothing to do with the monastery, and is not a 'village' in the dictionary sense. Nor are its rooms 'villas', of which the surrounding countryside is littered.
Though delighted to find a plug in the washbasin, lacking in a previous hotel, I was less so on finding that it did not fit
While glad of the tea/coffee-making facility in the room, this was the first hotel or B & B where we were required to pay for each sachet.
