Ambelia Village Review - 1 of 10 Reviews

After being fed up with the winter rain, my husband and I spent an evening trawling the Internet for a last minute getaway. We are most definitely not package holiday fans and prefer to visit somewhere where we're not likely to bump into Brits abroad. After reading up about North Cyprus on GoNorthCyprus.com, we decided to give them a call and ask for their expertise in finding the perfect holiday. We spoke to Mandy who was quite literally the fountain of all knowledge! She recommended the Ambelia Village as one of the newest hotels to their website; she was spot on and clearly understood our holiday needs!

The Ambelia Village is situated in a small town called Bellapais in Kyrenia, amid the most gorgeous mountain range (something that I wasn't even aware that North Cyprus had!) Being in such a secluded position means that the hotel is surrounded by peace and serenity and gave us such a relaxing holiday! The views from every room in the hotel were amazing and we went on some incredible walks. Close to the hotel is Bellapais monastery which is really worth a visit. Although the hotel is set back in the mountains, it is possible to get out and about in Kyrenia- you only have to ask one of the hotel staff and they are more than helpful in suggesting places to go and how to get there.

As well as the hotel's ideal location, what impressed my husband and me, was the food the hotel had to offer. Most of it is locally grown and it's all freshly prepared to a high standard. The hotel restaurant had a wonderfully warm and friendly feel to it and even when we had a random request, nothing seemed like too much trouble.

For a very last minute getaway both my husband and I are amazed by what we've found: a holiday destination which ticks all the boxes. I'm pretty sure we will be back again next year!
