The best thing about the Almond Holiday Village was the welcoming way in which its family orientated staff look after your every need; nothing was too much trouble. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly and hospitable front-of-house staff who asked us about our journey and welcomed our children as much as they did us. During our stay, if we asked for anything, we were sure that they would do their utmost to cater to our needs. For example, if we preferred to eat something that wasn't advertised on their daily menu, they would do their best to make something else. This reassured us about how fresh the food was. Everything was clearly cooked to order.

Another plus point was the hotel's beautiful, well kept grounds. My elderly mother-in-law and wondered around the gardens many times, never bumping into anyone else, admiring the gorgeous views. My children spent hours around the spacious hotel pool which rarely felt crowded.

Although we spent most of our time at the hotel, (we just felt so comfortable and welcome there) we did venture out towards the town of Kyrenia as well as searching for local beaches. In fact we found that many of the beaches were private so had to a pay a small fee to get onto them. Although this was somewhat disappointing, they were kept to such a high standard, it made it worthwhile visit, particularly because is reassured us of their cleanliness for the kids. The town was quite a distance and if we had visited again, we would have definitely hired a car.

Despite the Almond Village being somewhat smaller than other resort hotels, it was that very fact that made all of the difference. There is no doubt that when visiting North Cyprus again, this will be our choice.
