Acapulco Beach Club Hotel Review - 98 of 127 Reviews

Where do I start? My wife and I hadn't visited North Cyprus since 1996, things had changed quite a bit. If you are of Turkish descent then by all means ignore this review, we are not, although we used to absolutely love going to North Cyprus. This hotel is not five star by European standards at all, three star max! We were placed in the "new" Pine Court 2 building which is a good 15 min walk to breakfast/pool/beach. Straight off the bat things started to niggle us, the room smelt of cigarettes, the air con malfunctioned, the mini bar was empty(entire holiday), the fridge was warm, bathroom flooded every time we showered, the room wasn't hoovered ever!! Even our own bedding was removed and not returned, even though we reported all of these problems nothing was ever done! At breakfast/dinner time we had to make the long walk down to the sunset restaurant with the rest of our European inmates only to be confronted with an horrendous sight. You would think there was a famine, pushing, shoving, queuing for food. People pushing in front of you for an omelette or toast, just terrible. They did however offer a very good selection of food which was great, but to get to it was very frustrating and demeaning. The pool/beach area was its best feature once you had secured your sun beds with towels(go early to do this). If you buy drinks beware, they charge you triple what they are outside the complex. We hired a car so found out for ourselves how much we were being ripped off. There are a handful of staff there who were nice people, but we always felt very isolated and fully aware that if you weren't Turkish then no matter what you said you just weren't being listened to, they didn't care!
