Acapulco Beach Club Hotel Review - 1 of 127 Reviews

I wasn't sure if the Acapulco Resort Hotel would be the best place for a May holiday, but I was wrong! The beach is lovely and the weather was warm enough to sit out and just read, or look at the scenery - very relaxing. The swimming pool is impressive but with that lovely beach I couldn't see the point of it much! The resort was not full so you always could find a space to sit and relax - not sure that would happen at the height of the summer?

The restaurant food was nice in the hotel, and the waiting staff very attentive, but they spoke very little English. Breakfast was continental style with meat and cheese, but the eggs were a bit hit and miss, sometimes cooked well, other mornings rock hard.

Friends had told us to get a hire car and I'm glad we did, because otherwise we would have never seen anything of North Cyprus proper. The mountains were beautiful, and we drove up to Bellapais abbey, which was really atmospheric and had a great meal right next to the abbey . We also drove up to Buffavento castle in the mountains, which is not a drive for the nervous! The drive to the Karpas Peninsula was OK on the new road.

We would definately go back to North Cyprus, and I think the Acapulco is pretty much an ideal place to base yourself for a holiday here.
