We stayed in a beautiful apartment at the Oscar Resort Hotel, which we booked through gonorthcyprus. We were by one of the pools and very pleased with our accommodation, which you can tell had been newly decorated. I think the main hotel is next for refurbishment, so the rooms there should soon be up to the same standard. We got a great price for our stay, which was just after the summer season and the hotel was not crowded. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. There are three... more

we were looking for a beach type holiday but close to a town and the Oscars fitted the bill , we stayed in the Poolside family rooms (2 bedrooms) which was very handy as being out near the beach meant that we didn't have to shower/dress the children to go to our room, they loved the waterslides and the holiday train , the staff at the hotel were great and the one issue that we had was resolved quickly.Patina restaurant 10 mins walk away is owned by the hotel and became our favourite for lunch ,... more

We booked a break at Oscar resort with gonorthcyprus and have just returned. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel in a lovely renovated room with comfortable beds. Bathroom was a touch on the small side but had a very good shower. Kids loved it here, there's a nice sandy beach and facilities like tennis courts as well as the pools. The wave pool was not completed but didn't affect our stay. There are some good evening activities, bingo and karaoke, and it's easy to get around with the free bus the hotel... more

My parents had booked for a week at the Vouni Palace hotel and we decided to Join them , I called the agent that they booked with (Go North Cyprus) but the Price was a little above our budget, the agent that we spoke to ( Gary ) suggested the sister hotel next door , the Oscars resort and with the addition of offering a 2 bedroom unit was ideal for our needs, the immediate area on approaching the hotel is a little run down , but the complex itself is very nice indeed, we were able to use all of... more

We booked a week's stay at the Oscar Resort Hotel through GoNorthCyprus.com and really feel we received amazing value for money. The hotel was clean, airy and attractively decorated and our room was very nice, large, and finished to a high standard. The staff here cannot be faulted, they are so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious – such a wide choice and everything looked and tasted mouth-watering. After taking a break for a couple of years we decided to return to N Cyprus. A friend told me about the Go North Cyprus website and I must say they were excellent. Not having been for a while I gave them a call with a couple of questions and they were brilliant. Between us we decided that the Oscar Resort in Kyrenia best suited our needs, and I am eternally grateful for help and advice. From the moment we arrived we felt like family. Oscar resort hotel is a lovely hotel in a great position. You can walk into Kyrenia (Girne) harbour in about 20 minutes, although the area is quite rundown, but doesn't feel unsafe. We were a family group of eight and had a few issues with leaking sinks in the room when we first arrived, but everything was sorted out within a few hours. The rooms were very clean and our split level club gallery was extremely spacious. It also had one of the nicest views, over the wave pool and out to sea. Would... more

Plus: We chose a split level club gallery room which was ideal for us as we didn't have the feeling that we were 'stuck in a bedroom' as we often like to have coffee or tea in our room and potter about. (you can ask for a kettle it's part of the service) Beds were obviously new and extremely comforatable, great pillows, TV & airco on both floors. We have never met such a friendly team of staff, also in the restuarant. Vuni Palace and Oscar make up one resort and this meant that there were Always... more

Arrived on Half Board basis for a long weekend, with my sister and her son. Easy check in, room in main hotel clean although needed a bit of tender loving care. Restaurant food very good although there could have been slightly more choice of meat in the evening. Me as a vegetarian was elated. As people have said before the bar does close early and so does the entertainment but we just sat on the balcony and took in the sea air. Pools very clean, lots of sun beds and shade and the pool bar in... more

I must say I was not impressed with Oscars. The food was average (and very repetitive), parking terrible and Wi-Fi virtually unusable. Most worrying though was the maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel grounds, swimming pool and beach, which was, to be polite, poor. I recall reading one review about a tile missing from the kids pool (by the slides). It is still not fixed. Indeed when we first went there were several young kids throwing the aforementioned tile at each other in the pool – a... more

Just returned from another great holiday staying at Oscars - our 8th time so it must be good. First time booking with Go North Cyprus and would definitely use the company again. Easy booking and good prices compared to other companies. Taxi transfers included in price so no squashing into mini buses or coaches and travelling to six plus other hotels before reaching your one. We were moved rooms on the first time of asking and from then on everything was just great. For example, to provide shuttle bus service to the city center more frequently since it is a bit far from the center. Thanks a lot for the great holiday!!!... more

With late bookings I guess you get what you pay for, and our break at Oscar Resort Hotel was pretty much on the money. We wanted a cheap spring break in the sunshine, and thought northern Cyprus would be cheaper than south Cyprus, which turned out to be partly true. Drinks were more expensive than we'd thought, but food was definately cheaper, and our room deal at Oscar's would have cost a lot more in south Cyprus I'm sure. The building work on the way to the hotel is a bit of an eyesore, but the... more

Filthy surroundings and unkempt gardens did not give a good impression as we made our way to our "mini villa"-inside things were worse-curtains hanging off the rails, air conditioning that did not work-the previous inmate's things in fridge, very worn and shabby furniture, overall grubby-perhaps the hotel is different but I was very happy to leave. The "beach" is a dumping ground for big black plastic bags and there has to be a sewer running into the sea close by due to the small and effluent in... more

We were impressed with all the facilities, the lovely little amphitheatre near the water the three outdoor pools and the indoor pool which was so luxurious and reminded me of a Turkish Bath. We loved that food and drink were available throughout the day as we tend to do things at odd hours. We had a self-catering flat in the pink court. Located on the top floor, we had a wonderful view of the Mediterranean.... more

Being university students we were a bit strapped for cash when we were looking for a reasonably priced break after Christmas. All three of us had been to Cyprus before but no one had visited the Oscar Resort, which seemed to come with average to good reviews when we checked. We booked a single week and hoped for the best considering it was January. What we found was a clean and tidy hotel that was run by helpful and polite staff who were happy to help us get the most out of our stay at the Oscar... more

Having had an expensive year with the recent floods we decided a summer holiday was too expensive this year and decided to try the winter sun break we found advertised in the window of the travel agent. None of us had been to Cyprus before and the children were really looking forward to a few days in the warm sun while their friends back home were wrapping up warm. The flights took a little longer than expected due to an 'unforeseen delay' at the airport, but as soon as we arrived we were shown... more

When we arrived in October, the Oscar Resort had obviously been used long and hard during the summer. Our room's carpet needed a really good clean, and the toilet leaked, but this was fixed on the first day. Bathroom could have been cleaner, and grout needed replacing. There were some cracked tiles around the pool area too, which were a hazard.Having said that, the hotel generally was what I expected from a tourist hotel in Cyprus; plenty of food if not the most exciting, high priced drinks, polite... more

Luke and I have stayed at the Oscar Resort 3 times and enjoyed it every time. There are 4 pools on the premises, including an indoor one. The indoor pool was a little busy, leaving the outdoor pools comfortable for sunbathing. My husband and I booked a villa this trip finding it adequate for our needs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices have increased since last year, which was a bit of a shock. They are high compared to the state of the hotel. A few renovations and the price... more

We have just come back from a great value holiday on the outskirts of Kyrenia. Booked a last minute sunshine holiday and it was one of the best holidays I ever had. Me and 3 girlfriends took off and stayed at the Oscar Resort which was just fantastic. The rooms were luxurious with plenty of space. It was right near the beach and the town of Kyrenia and we could walk to the harbour area in just a few minutes. The shopping was brilliant for cheap silver and copper jewelry, leather purses, clothes... more

We took our holiday in TRNC for a week in the sun before the school rush, as we have two girls under the age of 5. Couldn't believe it when we got upgraded to a suite, and it did give us all extra space. Very clean too.Buffet style dinner was useful as it meant the girls could pick their own food (with help) and I think they actually ate more as a result. (The younger one is normally fussy.) Staff were very kind to the girls, always happy to help if they could and genuinely delighted to see them... more

Took a self catering apartment in the Pink Court at oscars for the family to save money on the summer holiday. The 'mini villa' was in need of some renovation and the kitchen was small with only two rings to cook on. Mind you, we still managed to cook meals for four of us on a couple of nights, and having your own fridge was a definate advantage. We stocked up at the supermarket opposite the hotel which was well geared up for tourist needs, from milk to mosquito repellants! It also saved a lot of... more

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in North Cyprus. I was worried about taking a 4-year old but he loved it and there was so much for us all to do. The Oscar Resort is huge and has the best facilities. It has the only wave pool in North Cyprus, and my son loved the toy train. We went down on the beach until it got too hot, and then came back and cooled off in one of the pools. There is also an Aquapark right on site which all the children loved, and if they are happy, we are happy. The... more

Oscar Resort Hotel is OK hotel, but not best. Registration took a long time, and staff did not speak German, only little English. The restaurant menu was OK but not very good choice, and sometimes cold food was served. There was not much leisure activity, and there were no good shops close to the hotel, but Kyrenia town is close and you can walk there. My room was not very clean but when I said this to the reception, it was better cleaned the next day. Next hotel on the beach the Vuni Palace hotel... more

Went to Oscar Resort on short winter break with old mates, having stayed in TRNC before. Enjoyed the heated indoor pool, health club, sauna, steam room, bars, beers. Food good if not exceptional, staff friendly and not rushed. My bedroom needed redecorating, but it was clean and comfy. Kyrenia town is an easy walk away so you can choose between hotel or local places to eat - drinks are much cheaper locally. (Word of warning, not every restaurant is open for lunch in March.) Beach is not a proper... more
