My wife and I recently visited the Ship Inn Hotel after booking through gonorthcyprus.com. We were impressed by the reviews and are happy to add to them! It's a nice quiet hotel run by a friendly family. Lots of food and drink on offer, great variety and quality. We had a pleasant, clean room that was kept in good condition throughout our stay. The grounds are well maintained and the pools looked great, although it's a bit cold at this time of year so we avoided swimming. There's a great fish restaurant... more

we booked a last minute deal online and were happy that it matched expectations , certainly better weather the hotel was ideal for us, staff were friendly, room was comfortable , only had breakfast there as so many good restaurants near by, very good fish restaurant (Hur Deniz) a few minutes walk away. The local bus stops right outside, ideal for exploring the coastline and very reasonable too.The major plus that this Hotel has is the heated indoor pool and sauna.... more

We're an older couple and we like our relaxing trips to North Cyprus, this year we stayed at the Ship Inn Hotel for the first time, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We booked a break through GoNorthCyprus and were very satisfied with the smooth booking process. We had a nice room with an en suite, very clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home. Pleasant pool area and frequent bus service into the centre. Good Continental breakfast with the addition of eggs and a decent... more

We found the Ship Inn Hotel on gonorthcyprus.com and booked in immediately, we were so impressed with the reviews. The staff were great and very welcoming, despite us arriving after 11pm! We enjoyed a drink in the bar and settled in to our room, which was close to the road but not overly noisy. Superb mountain views. The bed was comfortable and the room clean with a well-stocked fridge. The hotel grounds are wonderful and the pool area very pleasant, we didn't struggle to find free sunbeds but more... more

My husband and I have been to the Ship Inn three times now, each stay we booked with gonorthcyprus for their reliable, efficient service. We like the Ship because it's not too big or too small, the prices are excellent and the service is always good, as is the food. Our room this time round was relatively basic but the bathroom had been upgraded, which was a nice surprise. It was quiet and well appointed and we slept well - we always do. The staff are friendly and helpful wherever you go in the... more

This was our second stay at the Ship Inn, both times we booked with gonorthcyprus for the best deal. We were looking for comfort but not high prices and the Ship Inn is a good choice. It is a little tired here and there but you can't really complain for the price, plus the beds are really comfortable, the staff are pleasant and friendly and the place is kept very clean. We had clean towels every day and the breakfast was also really good. Can't comment on the other meals as we ate out. Some of the... more

My wife and I stayed for a week at the Ship Inn and were sad to leave, we had a great time and really rate this hotel. Having never stayed before we met a few other couples who were on their fourth and fifth visits, which says a lot for the hotel's reputation. We got a good price through gonorthcyprus.com and were pleased that this included transfers, although getting around is actually very easy because there is a regular bus service outside the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable and the... more

We booked a short break at the Ship Inn Hotel with Go North Cyprus and have just returned feeling very well rested. Our room was basic but clean and we were happy with it. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating and the breakfasts are more than adequate. It's so nice to be out in the sticks and away from the hustle and bustle, although it's easy to get into town using the regular bus service if you decide you do want to mingle with civilisation! Very nice pool area, plenty of sunbeds and attentive... more

My first time in Kyrenia, Cyprus and this family run business was great, like being at a home away from home, nothing was to big or small for them to handle, had a small problem with the air con and it was dealt with asap, The Ship Inn goes above and beyond for all of their clients to make the whole experience relaxing and comfortable, a truly great holiday. The views from the hotel were stunning and people(tourists) at the resort were friendly, the decor of the rooms were nice and felt homely.... more

My husband and I stayed at The Ship Inn for just one day after a business trip. What a pleasure. The pool was beautiful and clean and it was easy to get a chaise lounge and an umbrella. The surroundings were so relaxing. We urged reception to not waste a nice room on us for only one night but the one we were given was lovely and very well-appointed. Kettle, tea and coffee - just what we needed. The staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast was varied and delicious. The only bad point was... more

We booked in at the Ship Inn for our first trip to Kyrenia, the prices with GoNorthCyprus.com were very reasonable and included transfers, so we were very pleased. We found the hotel to have a nice scenic setting and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was fine, it would benefit from a bit of TLC but it was adequate and a reasonable size with a little balcony overlooking the gorgeous mountains. The water pressure in the bathroom was not very strong but that was the only niggle with the... more

Having stayed in Kyrenia many times, I can say without a doubt that the Ship Inn is one of the best hotels in the area. I booked a break through GoNorthCyprus, they always find me a great deal so I travel with them every year. I have stayed at the Ship once before, a few years ago. The staff are fantastic and really attentive, the accommodation is comfortable and clean and the towels are changed every day. My husband and I chose The Ship Inn on the recommendation of our travel agent GoNorthCyprus.com as the hotel was one of the best places to cater for our large family of five. As it has villas, we were all able to stay in one building but still had our separate spaces. We made the most of having our own kitchen, buying lots of tasty local food to make our own snacks and lunches after a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel. It also has a children's pool for the kids to play in, while the English... more

When browsing the GoNorthCyprus website, we were totally taken with the images of the Ship Inn Hotel, with its picturesque setting. Garry booked us in very efficiently, organising transfers too, so were already feeling very relaxed when we arrived! Stayed here during January this year - booking was nice and easy through Sue at Go North Cyprus. Honestly we're not the fussiest tourists in the world but we were assured a great stay and that's what we planned to have. The Ship Inn is just outside the centre of Kyrenia, situated along the main road but a bit further than would be comfortable to walk more than once or twice. We used the bus more often than not which saved an awful lot of time and was really cheap. The hotel itself is impressively... more

My wife and I have just returned after our first visit to North Cyprus. We stayed at the Ship Inn for 2 weeks. The whole staff were fantastic, not one bad one amongst them. The room we had 507 was a mountain view on the 3rd floor. No lifts so plenty of stairs :) As we were at the top of the building it was always very hot when returning at tea time. Mattress was nicely firm, and bedding was changed regular. Towels in bathroom changed every day I think. The pool area was excellant always clean and... more

We stayed at the Ship Inn over the Easter weekend on half board basis. The hotel is about 1.5km from Kyrenia(Girne) centre and is set in excellent grounds and has a large outdoor swimming pool. There is also an indoor pool and gym but that was not in use during our stay. The room we were allocated was well furnished and clean (though we found that sometimes the room was not cleaned until well into the afternoon) so we were hovering about waiting for it to be done. The evening meal was a bit repetitive... more

The hotel was perfect. Lovely staff , very clean, very helpful. It is a forty minute walk to Girne but dolmus very reliable and only 2.5 lira each and a five minute journey.Good facilities. Used car hire at fair price. All staff were very attentive. The location although by the main road is good with the backdrop of the mountains . Traffic un noticeable when by the pool and the area appears to be very safe. Don't be put off by the amount of military bases in north Cyprus. They cause no problems.... more

Can't understand what Jill (2009) is rattling on about, think she's had a touch too much of the sun!!! The Ship Inn is very clean, comfortable and the rooms are quite spacious with balconies. The food is excellent, we ate there twice with people we met who also thought it was good. Between us we had lamb, t-bones, chicken and fish - all good and more or less the same price and quality of the restaurants. The drinks are OK price-wise, about 2 quid for a beer (6TL). Visiting the Ship Inn this month – thought I'd leave a few lines to let others know what my family and I thought about the Ship Inn hotel in Kyrenia. Initially upon arrival we thought the place was great. We, like others, turned up late due to flights (but I think the hotel are actually use to this) and were treated well and checked in quickly and without fuss. We also managed to make dinner – which pleased the boys! While the rooms we had were very clean and quite spacious, they did have a rather... more

Firstly you should be aware that despite the address, the Ship Inn hotel is actually just outside of Kyrenia, but not by far (only a few miles). We visited for a whole week after having this hotel matched to our needs by a booking agent (Sue) from go north cyprus holiday booking company. Our flight meant we actually turned up late into the evening but checking in wasn't an issue at all. I took my husband for a 10-day stay at the Ship Inn for his birthday this year. We don't have a massive amount of disposable income, but I didn't want a bargain basement hotel and the Ship offered a nice middle-ground between cheap and extravagant. The accommodation itself is fantastic compared with other hotel's offerings in this price range - which is one of the reasons it was recommended by gonorthcyprus travel company. Here's what we thought about our recent holiday booked through gonorthcyprus.com holiday company and their booking advisor Sue. We found them online and to be honest, we saved a lot of time and hassle going through a company that knew the area and the holiday insustry well. We went to the Ship Inn last month for an early holiday trip. We were advised to opt for a room at the rear of the hotel so we could get a nice view of the olive orchards behind the building. My husband and I have visited the Ship Inn more than once, we are more than happy with their services and that is why we chose to come back. The first time that we visited it was recommended to us by a friend, so when we took a trip to North Cyprus we made sure we had a room booked. The hotel is very reasonably priced, which obviously had an influence on our return. I surprised my wife with a last minute trip to Kyrenia because I managed to get a great deal now the summer season is over. I'm pretty sure that she would've been made up with anywhere we stayed considering it was a treat, but we were both very impressed with the Ship Inn considering its price. The hotel and apartments were in a great location, on the outskirts of Kyrenia. Being slightly away from the heart of the town meant that it had a more private and quiet feel. We stayed at the Ship Inn recently at the start of the busy season as a birthday surprise. We purchased full board, which we realized was a mistake. The full board menu quickly became boring, as it was very repetitive and also there wasn't much food on the plate. I'm not kidding when I say that the entrée was closer to what an appetizer would be as far as quantity. Add the lack of substance to the fact that the same menu was served over and over and it became apparent that the full board option... more

We recently returned from a trip to North Cyprus, where we stayed at the Ship Inn Hotel. This was our second holiday to this lovely place and because we'd had such a wonderful time last year, we chose to stay at the Ship Inn a second time. The price was right and the rooms were impeccably clean and very comfortable. The décor was unique in that it sports an old English look and feel. Very pleased with the Ship Inn's service - much better than the price suggests. Room was clean if not oversmart. Whole hotel atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, as a family hotel should be. TV was all Turkish, tho'.Arrived late in the evening but staff made sure we had something to eat and helped with our bags. Breakfast and dinners we had were OK, with a reasonable choice, this reflected the hotel's ethos of honest good fun in the sun rather than pampered luxury at a price. Ate out in Kyrenia... more

The Ship Hotel was dreadful, the food and drinks were very expensive and they had a total monopoly as there was absolutely nowhere to go outside of the hotel. Nearest supermarket was a fifteen minute walk.On the 3 days that we stayed our room was never cleaned before 4.30 in the afternoon, we had to ask to be shown how to use the room safe 3 times, a party of 23 arrived on what I assume was a company bonding weekend and took over the pool for their silly games. The Ship Inn may sound like a pub, but behind its mock Tudor facade is a really nice hotel! We met guests who have stayed there year after year, always a good sign.
