If you're looking for somewhere friendly for a getaway that won't break the budget, Bellapais Monastery Village is ideal. We've visited twice, both times with gonorthcyprus, and both times we've had a really good deal. The staff are friendly and speak good English, our room was comfortable but could have done with a bit of a touch-up. Decent breakfast and other meals quite basic but nice enough, too. The hotel setting is quite steep so may not be ideal if you struggle with mobility. Really nice... more

We were looking for a quiet ralaxed hotel to base ourselves for a walking holiday, and it proved ideal we were staying in the mini bungalows in the gardens , surrounded by lemon and Olive trees and a 2 minute walk to the main Hotel for breakfast and the bar. The village of Bellapais is an uphill walk of around 20 minutes and has some very nice and reasonable restaurants and if you are staying in the area they will provide a free taxi.Overall a good break, the Hotel, the walks and weather were just... more

My husband and I booked a short break at Bellapais Monastery Village with our agent gonorthcyprus, who got us a great price. The hotel is a little tired here and there but you can overlook that because the place is so clean and welcoming. The staff are just lovely and so helpful, our room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. The pool area is welcoming and very well kept and the hotel's location is ideal, just five minutes away from the centre of town in a taxi so very cheap to get out and... more

We first stayed at Bellapais Gardens last year after finding the gonorthcyprus website. We got such a good deal we booked again for a winter break and it was good timing as we missed the snow back home! Bellapais is a lovely place in the shadow of an old ruined abbey. The accommodation is clean and luxurious and the staff are super attentive. The food also is fabulous, you won't want to eat out because it's so well made and such good value. My husband and I got a good deal for Bellapais Monastery Village through gonorthcyprus.com and we were excited to visit. When we arrived we were really blown away by the picturesque location, it's very beautiful up in the mountains with gorgeous views. The atmosphere is relaxed and we were welcomed by the staff. Our room was little dated but this adds to the charm, it was cleaned daily. Food is decent and the desserts are excellent in particular, lots of local cats to stroke! I would suggest hiring... more

Our first trip to northern Cyprus and it will be hard to beat! We used gonorthcyprus to book our break at Bellapais Gardens after reading the reviews. When we arrived it was to a very warm welcome from the friendly and efficient staff. We had a spacious and comfortable room, which was cleaned daily, and it was wonderful to be able to control the hot water ourselves - this has been a point of contention on other holidays we have taken but not so at Bellapais. The pool area is beautiful - of course,... more

My husband and I stayed at Bellapais for a week after booking a great value trip with Go North Cyprus. We'd never been to the region before but found it to be ruggedly beautiful with all its mountains. The hotel is in a wonderful spot from which you can enjoy views both of the mountains and of the sea. There was a lovely friendly yet quiet atmosphere and our accommodation was spotlessly clean. Staff were hospitable and efficient and we loved the little hotel bar. The food was another major plus... more

As the other reviewers suggest, this place is fantastic. We booked in with gonorthcyprus for a week and only wish we had stayed longer. The staff are lovely on arrival and send your luggage over to the accommodation, we had a villa with a balcony surrounded by fruit trees, inside is clean and modern with plenty of space. The grounds are beautiful, as is the pool, which has the benefit of overlooking the amazing old abbey. The food is amazing, restaurant busy every night such is the quality of the... more

We always book in at Bellapais Monastery Village with GoNorthCyprus, you won't find a better standard of service anywhere in our opinion, along with wonderful food and well-appointed rooms. There are a lot of steps as the setting is quite steep but I've seen the staff helping guests with mobility problems and the hotel runs a shuttle bus into the town, so it's easy to get around without having to walk the fair distance. We are always made to feel very welcome here, the staff are so lovely and the... more

We loved our stay at Bellapais Monastery Village hotel and are glad we happened to find it on GoNorthCyprus when we were searching for a peaceful early autumn holiday. Not only did it have a fantastic traditional atmosphere, but it was also set in an incredibly beautiful and peaceful location. The beautiful setting of the Bellapais hotel really swung it for me, so I booked a week's break with my husband through GoNorthCyprus. The pictures on the website are very true to life - we thought the setting was spectacular, in the shadow of the old abbey and with lovely views over the surrounding area. Inside the hotel was just as pleasant, really attractive and comfortable. We've just returned from our break, arranged through GoNorthCyprus.com and I just have to say it was superb. Traditional rustic hotel finished to a high standard with a beautiful outdoor pool area and attractive grounds. We stayed in a villa that was very comfortable and cleaned every day. It was also very quiet and peaceful, probably because we travelled out of season. Taxi journey back to airport was also on time. This hotel is in a good location for views, monastery and easy access to town. I think most people would want to hire a car anyway to see some of the island and castles so the fact that it is a few km from the town isn't an issue. The shuttle bus works well and is concise. It is not in Bellapais (a stiff half hour walk uphill), it has nothing to do with the monastery, and is not a 'village' in the dictionary sense. As the move was pretty expensive we only had a very short honeymoon and thought now was a good time to book a deal and come away to make up for it. Our travel agent suggested the Bellapais Monastery Village as a good place for couples to stay and after a little price haggling we bagged a great package deal. My partner had visited Cyprus before but this would be my first trip out. First impressions of... more

Location! Location! Location! This hotel complex has the best situation anywhere in Kyrenia. The views are fantastic over the town, sea and new harbour. It is a pleasant 20-25 minute walk up to the Abbey which is well worth a visit as it is so pretty. The town is 45 minutes pleasant walk, or you can use the hotel bus which is very reliable. The restaurant and food were very good in the hotel complex serving mainly British food, although there was a Cypriot night with local foods and dancing. We... more

We found the hotel to be very well run and looked after. The staff were extremely helpful and virtually everybody there spoke fluent and clear English which helped us out a lot. We were very positive when we arrived as the weather was great and the kids were also excited about getting in to the pool after we'd settled in. Once we'd found our villa we noticed that it looked a little run down and worn, but to be honest it was very clean and the bed linen and towels were spotless. One of the main downsides... more

The Bellapais Monastery Village has a good location, with views down to the coast and attentive staff,, but it's time for some overdue maintenance. Poor water pressure meant you had more of a dribble than a shower in the mornings. To be fair, our room was clean and tidy, and the air con was surprisingly effective, but not not five star standard by European standards. I suspect... more

I was so much looking forward to my holiday to North Cyprus and in many ways it was fantastic. The hotel was very nice with a lovely restaurant and really friendly staff who were not stuck up at all. They made us very welcome, got us everything we needed and were always smiling. The pool and the sun deck were really great. There were plenty of sunbeds and space for everyone. The bus ran into town during the day, but at night there was not much going on for younger people. The bar tenders were fun,... more

I had originally booked our vacation at another location, but learned that location has some issues. Switching to Bellapais was the best thing we could have done. We got to the hotel late in the evening, yet they still found food to serve us dinner when we stated we were famished. Definitely great choices in meals for all hours. We stayed in a villa looking out at Kyrenia- plenty of room and air conditioning. There was a pool; plenty of staff on hand for beverages and even snacks. We didn't... more
