We've just returned from a break at Merit Park and want to thank Gary at gonorthcyprus for the recommendation, we all had a wonderful time! When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and we found our room to be spacious and very clean. The whole hotel is very clean in fact. We enjoyed the varied buffet meals every day and our children loved the animals in the grounds and going for pony rides - not something we've ever found at a hotel before! It is a nice setting by the sea and... more

The highlight of our trip to Merit Park Hotel in north Cyprus had to be the food. Despite having children who are fussy eaters, the whole family found something delicious to try here. My favourite was the fish restaurant on the hotel's pier, where we got to sample scrumptious fresh seafood and fish while enjoying fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea. Everyone also loved the Aisha Lebanese restaurant as well, which apparently has a great reputation far and wide! Another thing GoNorthCyprus.com's... more

We recently booked a two-week break at the Merit Park Hotel through GoNorthCyprus and it turned out to be one of our best holidays yet, if not THE best. The hotel is stylish, modern and clean and the grounds are vast and well looked after. The position on the cliffside means the hotel is slightly elevated, so the views are pretty impressive, and we could see the sea from our room, which was a bonus. We chose the all-inclusive package so our meals were all accounted for, and we were very happy with... more

Staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us.Food was excellent, the choice was excellent. Noticed that someone was disappointed they did not get milk for their tea, we asked for milk and it was given without a problem.Decided to give the Park a try after spending a good few Christmases at Crystal Cove. Liked it so much we have booked up for Christmas.Looking forward to spending Christmas at the Park, hope it is as good as Crystal Cove.... more

This is a good hotel but it does need to make some changes to make it 5* . The staff on reception need to improve their English as I found communication with the staff there quite difficult. On arrvival late in the evening I was surprised not to be offered some refreshment either in the room or in the restaurant which one would expect from 5 star hotels.Although tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room , they did not provide milk which most English people take in their tea.When... more

Just spent 3 wonderful days over the Christmas period at the Merit Park, all the staff really went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time. The food as always was excellent, Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch was Silver service and everyone on each table was served at the same time. We were in a suite with sea view which was perfect, very peaceful and quiet, the only noise we heard was the sea.. The waitress (Emma) in the Sherwood Bar was very good and made sure everyone... more

Just recently returned from our 15 day holiday at the Merit Park in North Cyprus. Myself and my wife found this to be a wonderful hotel. The food and wine for an all inclusive was probably the best we have ever had. The people working there made our stay extremly pleasant and special mentions to Hasan, Sinthiya and Emma who worked hard on the bars and were a lot of fun.If we were to pick up on any points for improvement it would have been nice to have more activites but this could be due to the... more

We had a great stay at this hotel, two glorious weeks in the sun.The hotel was very comfortable and very clean and tidy, and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in.The hotel had a fantastic 50 metre pool, which I used everyday, it was well maintained and the water quality was fantastic. If you want any treatments in the Spa speak with Derya the Spa duty manager, who speaks excellent English, and who wants to provide the best customer service possible. The Bar staff were also... more

Last year my husband and I visited the Merit Park Hotel for a short break. When we stayed there there was a lot of building work taking place which was a little off putting. However the staff were so wonderful and we were so impressed with everything else that we decided to return once the work had been finished (when we did stay this time there were only a few bits of work going on.) We've just come back from our return visit and literally cannot find fault in the hotel!Firstly, the food at the... more

This is our third visit to Merit Park, we like the hotel very much, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food, good location, good Wellness & Spa facilities, but, very noisy from the workmen who are hammering and banging from 8am to 8pm inside the hotel and outside, it was impossible to sit and relax by the pool or read in peace and quiet indoors in the lounge area. On our third day we went to the Merit Crystal Cove hotel just so we could relax at least for 1 day. Also our mini bar wasn't... more

The staff in this hotel were very obliging and went out of their way to help us. Firdevs Kaymak deserves a very special mention. She was exceptional and helped me beyond the call of duty. My family and I are extremely grateful to her. The time and effort she and the hotel staff put in that night was exceptional. The hotel was very clean, all staff are polite and helpful and the food is very nice. The poolside staff were always there to get me and my friends a drink. The human relations people were... more

I am required as part of my job to visit Kyrenia once or twice a year to liaise with some business partners of my boss (it's nothing exciting, so I won't bore you with the details). Typically I'll stay for four or five nights over a weekend so that I can make the most of the time spent travelling once our business is concluded, and on this occasion my boss booked me into the Mercure Hotel for the first time. Whenever I come to north cyprus I always book hotes through www.gonorthcyprus.com for ease... more

The Mecure is the name of the latest hotel to be my home away from home whilst staying in Northern Cyprus. I have previously booked my trips through a company called gonorthcyprus and have really found the service to be great, so thought i'd do the same again but choose a different hotel. I tend to go once a year (alone, more often than not because the children have moved away from home and my wife despises the heat) to let off some steam and enjoy a cocktail or three. I've been doing this for around... more

We stayed at the Mecure for 10 days on an all inclusive plan. The suite room was very nice and lived up to our expectations. The pool area was large, and the surrounding gardens and lawns were well kept. Our balcony view of the sea was awesome, we never tired of it.Even though we were on an all inclusive plan there was never a problem getting a drink, whether at the pool or any of the other bars. We did find the food good but needed more variety so we ate out a few times.Staff could be a bit friendlier... more

The steak restaurant was never open and the ala cart was just an open BBQ area and how they can charge extra for this I dont know. the decking around the pool area was loose in many places and people were forever triping up on the loose boards. We stayed at the Mercure Hotel recently and I have to say, I was a little disappointed. First of all, they rate themselves a 5 star hotel but this hotel is definitely NOT a 5 star. Three star would be more like it. The hotel itself is very nice and it's in a lovely location with breathtaking north cyprus views, so in that respect I can't complain too much. The rooms are nice and kept clean and the staff is very polite and helpful. However, there were so many other things that caused us to dislike... more

We had a lovely holiday at the Mercure. Hotel was fabulous, clean, lovely rooms, excellent air conditioning in the rooms, but totally inadequate in the rest of the hotel. Pool areas was spotlessly clean & well maintained. Food was typical Turkish/Cypriot which is to be expected, If you want English food you stay in England. Weekdays were great, Weekends was utter chaos, with day trippers taking over the pool & beach & restaurant, really dreadful, & if we had arrived on the Friday we would have... more

We took a 3 day break at the Mercure at the end of June. On arrival, we found the reception area extremely hot and had to wait for almost 10 minutes to be attended to. Once checked in, a very friendly porter escorted us to our sea view room on the first floor which was bright and beautifully furnished, however, without a balcolny, which was a pity as we had to sit INSIDE and look at the stunning views. Everything one would expect of a 5 star hotel was on offer in the room and plenty of nice toiletries... more

My other half and I travel frequently in our retired years and we've seen our share of hotels, both bad and good. We both agreed that the Mercure Hotel is one of the top hotels in North Cyprus. I'm not sure why they have received some bad reviews lately but in both our opinions, the reviews were unwarranted (or theyve made some great changes lately). We really enjoyed staying here and thought the service was excellent and the food was some of the best we've had.We paid for all-inclusive (full... more

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel recently when we took a week off in northern cyprus and very much enjoyed our stay. I'm surprised by all the bad reviews this hotel has received, as I found everything to be more than satisfactory. We went all-inclusive (full board plus) and found the food to be excellent in our opinion. Breakfast and lunch was good; dinner consisted of a huge selection of delicious food everyday. We were never bored with the food. Also, they serve either beer or wine with meals... more

Our expectations of the Mercure were really high before we went. My husband and I had booked a luxurious break away for our anniversary and had chosen the hotel because of how gorgeous it looked in the pictures. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to expectations. The décor in the hotel was lovely and everything was perfectly clean so I guess on that front you can't complain. The problem is that if it promotes itself as a 5 star, you expect 5 star standard and it just wasn't.Our room had a balcony... more

The Mercure Hotel offers excellent value for money we paid £60/night room and breakfast (booked through KyreniaHotels.co.uk). The location is superb with great views out onto the med. The rooms are average with a small bathroom and a balcony too small to sit on. We have stayed at this hotel on at least 3 occasions at different times through out the last 2 years. We have always found it to be comfortable clean and pleasant as a hotel of this calibre should be. The food in the main restaurant is of a reasonable standardand is made up of typical International and Cypriot cuisine. The Steak house was a complete let down this time and we have noticed that the standard of food in here has worsened over the last 2 visits. It is also expensive for the quality offered... more

What a difference a day makes at the Mercure. Thursday - peaceful, quiet, uncrowded, until Friday night when a conference crowd arrived. From then on, the restaurants and bars packed, noisy chats in the corridors until late, etc. Also, local families can come in during the weekend to use the pool, but since we went early in the season, this wasn't a problem. Sunday evening, the conference delegates all went home again. Monday - quiet, peaceful, uncrowded... Having got that off my chest, I think... more

I was a little concerned about visiting North Cyprus out of season, (November) so chose the Mercure Hotel as it was 5 star and open all year round. When we arrived our room was ready and we got one with a sea view without even asking, which was nice. The room was clean, airy and with modern decor, and a clean if a little snug bathroom. Probably because of the time of year, the swimming pool terrace was nearly empty so I could always find somewhere to sit in the sun or the shade - it was surprisingly... more

I had a wonderful time in Cyprus. The Mercure Hotel was adequate with a very enticing pool and beach area. The grounds surrounding the hotel are very well kept. The view from my suite was of the sea which was very relaxing. It was comprised of a bedroom and a sitting room. The fitness centre was first rate with an offering of Turkish Baths. The Mercure is a really popular hotel in North Cyprus, and that's both a blessing and a curse if you want to come here for a holiday.I loved the setting as soon as we arrived, since the hotel sits proud on a headland, so our sea view room really did overlook the sea. The hotel has a big swimming pool with a bridge over it, plus its own patch of beach on the nearby bay, complete with beach bar service. I travelled to North Cyprus on business and stayed at The Mercure for two nights. It is an impressive looking hotel when you walk in, not as faceless as many international hotels. My room was on a par with Hilton or Marriott hotel rooms, with wifi and a decent tv. Breakfast buffet was well prepared and fresh, dinner good with Turkish options available, and at normal 5 star international prices. Wine was overpriced for the quality, but international hotel wines are rarely anything but overpriced.... more
