I travelled to North Cyprus on business and stayed at The Mercure for two nights. It is an impressive looking hotel when you walk in, not as faceless as many international hotels. My room was on a par with Hilton or Marriott hotel rooms, with wifi and a decent tv. Breakfast buffet was well prepared and fresh, dinner good with Turkish options available, and at normal 5 star international prices. Wine was overpriced for the quality, but international hotel wines are rarely anything but overpriced. Service was slow and not particularly attentive, but I was discussing business over dinner, so they probably did not want to interrupt.

The large pool looked inviting even in may, but no time to try it out,but did find time to wind down in the wellness centre's spa. Reception ordered me taxis each day no problem, and the journey to and from Ercan airport, again by taxi, very easy and quick. Took a quick look at the conference facilities, which looked up to London standards, and would be fine for any international event.
