Ship Inn Hotel Review - 14 of 40 Reviews

Firstly you should be aware that despite the address, the Ship Inn hotel is actually just outside of Kyrenia, but not by far (only a few miles). We visited for a whole week after having this hotel matched to our needs by a booking agent (Sue) from go north cyprus holiday booking company. Our flight meant we actually turned up late into the evening but checking in wasn't an issue at all. We travelled with two children and there's no lift, so be aware that if you cant managed stairs, you need to ask for a ground floor room.

Our room was really pleasant and clean as one might expect. We had a balcony that, although not huge, had a nice view over a garden area. There were most of the amenities you'd expect (hair dryer, iron, fridge etc.). One point about the bathroom was that the bath sides were pretty tall and this meant a tricky climb in for young ones (or infirm people for that matter). As it was pretty hot, we were glad that the air con was working great and made the room comfortable very quickly.

The décor around the Ship Inn have obviously been there a while, but it looks very presentable and inviting. They have a lovely garden area which is cared for regularly and is aesthetically pleasing to guests. There were plenty of flowers in bloom and it really brought the place to life. The kids enjoyed the pool and although I didn't take part, I felt safe they were using the children's part which was shallower. Evening meals were spent at the Ship Inn and we can honestly say that it's really good. Not a single meal attracted a complaint and we would recommend eating here without a second. Being on the periphery, the hotel did have a range of hire cars available for guests to rent and explore the area. Saving that, there's plenty of mini-buses going to and from town.

The only thing left to mention would be the staff. At every opportunity the staff here were as helpful as they could have been. I was really impressed with how cheerful they were and how interested they were in making sure our stay was perfect. Would we come back? Certainly.
