This is a hotel review for Palm Beach Hotel in Famagusta, North Cyprus

“Ticked all the right boxes for what we wanted”

We stayed for a week in early March. Not all of the hotel facilities were in operation as the outside pool wasn't in use (there is an indoor pool which was operational but we didn't use either this or the fitness suite) and none of the loungers or beach umbrellas were put out on the beach. This was not a problem for us as were weren't after that sort of holiday - you would need to go a bit later in the year if this is what you want. However it is quite possible that loungers/umbrellas would have been provided if we had asked. We were very well looked after by the hotel staff from reception through to cleaning/housekeeping and the cocktail bar. In the restaurant the food was excellent and the service exemplary. Our sea view room was comfortable rather than luxurious, and a little on the small side, but well worth the extra for the view along the coast. The hotel's location next to the 'forbidden' zone of Varosha means that there is no through traffic so the hotel's location is quiet and relaxed whilst being within easy walking distance (15 to 20 minutes for us) from the centre of the old town of Famagusta. Recommended if you need somewhere as a base for exploring Famagusta and Salamis but expect to do a bit of driving if you want to get to the Karpaz peninsula or the Kyrenian Mountains.
