Merit Hotel Lefkosa Review - 3 of 10 Reviews

I have previously stayed in the Merit Crystal Cove hotel so this year decided to make a change and go for the Merit Lefkosa. Just before I went, I read a few reviews and one went on about how rude the staff are. It did worry me a bit but I need no need to worry. During my whole stay, I had no problems with the staff and my booking was correct. The staff aren't fantastic at speaking English, so perhaps if you did have a problem, it might be difficult but I found them to be perfectly polite.

The Merit Hotel was spotlessly clean, just like its sister hotel. My room was fabulous- it definitely lived up to its 5 star name. In fact, I found the room here even better than the Merit Crystal Cove. The hotel in general had excellent facilities and the free wi-fi was a definite plus (even when on holiday unfortunately I have to keep in touch with work duties so this made it easy for me to do so.)

The food in the hotel was a good quality with an excellent choice. I ate most of my evening meals in the hotel, as well as having breakfast every day and from day-to-day I didn't get fed up of having the same thing as there was plenty to choose from. It all seemed clean and fresh too.

I wasn't planning on using the hotel casino but I decided to go in on one of the nights. It had a great atmosphere although some of the locals were a little rowdy.

The only negative about the stay really was the location of the hotel. Being in the middle of Lefkosa made it quite noisy and the surrounding buildings were quite shabby. I'm not sure this place would be suitable for families looking for a relaxing beach holiday with their kids. However it suited me as I was more than keen to wander around the city and hop on a bus to visit local sites.
