Long Beach Resort Hotel Review - 13 of 21 Reviews

There's so much competition for custom in Famagusta's hospitality trade that we've always said how difficult it must be for the smaller businesses to compete. It is a relatively small area of land to house so many grand hotels, but on this visit we think we might have gotten a real insight into what the little guys are doing to stay afloat, and Long Beach Resort is a shining example. Some background: We visited North Cyprus for 10 nights in September 2015, booking via GoNorthCyprus.com. It was a painless experience compared with many of our previous ones, and we would definitely use them again. We spoke with Antony, who told us he was relatively new there but did a stand-up job of sorting us out. The Long Beach Resort certainly isn't the largest or most luxurious of the hotels you'll find in this region and on the surface it arguably looks a tiny bit tired. We've no idea how long ago it was built but it doesn't seem to have been refurbished recently (not to suggest it's not clean and tidy of course, quite the opposite). If you're after a holiday experience that does more than scratch the surface however, you'll soon find you've forgotten all about appearances. The staff there were absolutely exemplary- warm, yet professional, and seemingly genuinely happy to take care of us for the duration of our stay. This seems to be the key to survival in a place where you're not the prettiest location- care for the customer. And, it has to be said, great food always helps. There's lots of fresh local produce on offer here and an admirably large variety of dishes available considering they aim to please all of their customers. If luxury isn't your primary concern and you'd like to support a smaller local business, please do give this place a go. You shouldn't be disappointed.
