Having visited Northern Cyprus previously and not getting the right choice of hotel we decided that this time we'd use a holiday booking company. We went with GoNorthCyprus.com and the booking agent couldnt have been more helpful. Sue offered us a range of hotels that matched the requirements we gave her and the Life Hotel was the final choice. The first thing we'd like to report is this: the Life is situated perfectly for anyone looking to sample proper local cuisine (i.e. us). Food is one of the main attractions for us when choosing a place to stay, and for the entire time we spent in North Cyprus it rarely took us more than ten minutes to walk to a restaurant or cafe, perfect for people like us who enjoy sampling the local foods. This is especially impressive when you consider that we ate every meal in a different establishment for the whole vacation!

The Life Hotel is fairly modern in comparison with some of the other hotels we've seen in the region- it certainly isn't lacking for facilities or the creature comforts some holiday-makers will be used to from home. The bar is a nice enough place to enjoy a drink at the end (or the start!) of the day, as is the roof terrace, although we can't comment on the quality of the food served in the restaurant due to reasons we've already discussed.

We found the staff extremely helpful and polite in spite of the fact that not all of them spoke english. Of course this meant there was a language barrier to work around occasionally, but thanks to the high standard of everything during our stay we had very little need to complain or ask for added assistance.

As far as the room was concerned, we were very pleased with the amount of space available to us. It was also (as far as we could tell- again, we didn't spend too much time there) kept very clean and the towels were changed daily. All in all, a brilliant hotel and probably deserving of a higher rating than its current three stars.
