Whenever we go to northern Cyprus I head straight to the Go North Cyprus website and book us into the Cratos. My mum loves it as much as us so always comes along, and the last couple of trips have seen our party expand even more. Thankfully the really helpful people at the booking company always find us suitable bookings

We've been once in peak summer and it was way too hot and overcrowded, October is perfect as you still get the warmth but not the crowds. This trip was the best ever. Temps hit 30 degrees, the sea was calm and great for swimming, and there were times we had the pool to ourselves.

The hotel staff are amazing, from the receptionists to the cleaners to the bar staff. There is a bar offering snacks by the beach and while the portions aren't huge they are perfect for through the day when you want a bite to eat and a break from the sun. The drinks are amazing and very reasonably priced. I saw a few people with watermelon mocktails served in the actual melons. I would expect they would be a bit pricier judging by the size of them but well worth it just for the photos!

The hotel grounds were as fabulous as ever, and I love the architecture of this hotel, particularly all the marble inside. The casino is fun but non smokers might not like the smokey atmosphere. It didn't bother me as I felt I was in one of those casinos in the old gangster movies!

Overall, another great holiday was had by all in this fab hotel.
