I booked to go to Kyrenia, North Cyprus through GoNorthCyprus.com. I'd heard about the area from friends who said that it was quiet and peaceful and not ruined by tourism. I'm a writer and have suffered from serious writer's block so needed to get away for some 'thinking' time. I chose to use a booking agent in the hope to get expert advice- GoNorthCyprus gave me exactly that! I spoke to Gary, one of their agents, who have to add was very amusing! I told him that my priority was relaxation so he recommended Bare Hill Holiday Village and what a great job he did!

I have to admit that with the name 'village', I was expecting something larger but was pleasantly surprised to learn the complex is a relatively small family run business. Their customer service and attention to detail was something that you just wouldn't get from a big hotel.

The Bare Hill accommodation is well equipped and incredibly clean. I was particularly impressed by how peaceful and quiet it was- this definitely helped me to concentrate. I enjoyed the Turkish breakfast that the owners offer if you don't fancy self catrering every morning. Close to the holiday village, still in the resort of Kyrenia, is a beautifully unspoilt beach. It was surprisingly quiet on every occasion I visited it, which for me was ideal! I really feel like I've found a little writing haven in North Cyprus and shall definitely be visiting again. The Bare Hill Holiday will be first on my list of places to stay!
